Exploration Geologist

Barto Gold is a privately owned Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. Its flagship project is located at Marvel Loch in Western Australia, operating multiple open pits and an underground mine, which services a 2.1Mt per annum name plate processing facility. These are supported by a tenement holding of greater than 1,400km2 over the prospective Southern Cross Greenstone Belt only 4 and a half hours from Perth.

Significant project investment to date has resulted in the company being well positioned, developing its multiple >5-year mine life underground mines, in conjunction with continuing to produce from its open pit operations. Currently the company operates two producing undergrounds with another new operation being rehabilitated and three open pits balanced against each other.

Due to continued growth across our operations, we are seeking an Exploration Geologist to join our Southern Cross team. This position operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster with Bus-In, Bus-Out transport from Perth. Alternative travel arrangements may be considered for candidates based outside of Perth.

About the role:

The successful applicant will become part of a collaborative and results-driven exploration team, working alongside Project Geologists and Field Assistants to deliver exploration objectives safely and effectively.

Reporting to and supported by the Senior Exploration Geologist and Exploration Superintendent, you will be responsible for the practical implementation of the operational exploration plan. The role provides an opportunity to work with experienced mining professionals who are committed to fostering a progressive culture and supporting the company's ongoing expansion.

Responsibilities include:

· Ensuring data collection and data validation procedures are followed.

· Ensure appropriate exploration geological reports are completed on time.

· Reporting of safety observations, including hazards and interactions.

About you:

This role is open to new graduates wanting to take their first steps into the exploration and mining industries, or experienced new professionals with up to 2 years' experience.

We are seeking a candidate who brings the following skills, qualifications, and personal attributes:

· Tertiary qualifications in Geology.

· Demonstrated keen attention to detail and proactiveness.

· Exposure to RC and diamond drilling operations including logging and data validation.

· Confidence logging lithology, alteration, mineralisation and structure.

· Experience stepping into active exploration program.

· Competent oral or written skills combined with general administrative organisation.

· C class (Manual) licence.

· Australian working rights.

Desirable experience:

· Previous WA gold exploration experience.

· Knowledge of 3D software such as Leapfrog, Micromine, QGIS and logging software.

· 4WD experience & First Aid (Senior First Aid).
