About the role

Fantastic Garage Doors is seeking an experienced Garage Door Service Technician to join our dynamic team in. This is a full-time position. You will be responsible for providing professional maintenance, repair and installation services to our valued customers. As a Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and reliable service delivery.

We are based in Pakenham and you will need to stock up on a regular basis

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing and repairing garage door systems, including motors, springs, hinges, panels and associated components

• Performing routine maintenance and safety inspections on garage door installations

• Installing new garage door motors and related hardware in residential and commercial properties

• Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults and implementing effective solutions

• Communicating clearly with customers to explain issues, repair options and associated costs

• Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all completed work

• Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and best practice standards

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals

• Sharing responsibility in Responding promptly to emergency call-outs and service requests

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a garage door technician or in a similar role within the trades and services industry

• Sound knowledge of garage door systems, including sectional doors, roller doors, tilt doors and associated mechanical and electrical components

• Competency in diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults

• Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces, with a strong commitment to health and safety protocols

• A valid driver's license,

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and quality workmanship

• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items and perform labour-intensive tasks

• Desirable: Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical systems, or specialised garage door certifications
