Disability Support Worker

About the role

Join Avenue Ability as a Disability Support Worker. In this role, you'll provide essential support and assistance to a senior male individual with an autistic disability , helping them to live independently and participate fully in their community.

Hours of work 9am to 1pm Monday to Saturday. Occasional extra afternoon hours for community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised, high-quality support in daily living, personal care and community access

• Support participants to achieve their NDIS goals and enhance their independence

• Build meaningful relationships based on trust, respect, and empathy

About you

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients

• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

• First Aid & CPR Certificate

• Medication Certificate

• National Police Clearance

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence

• Relevant qualification or previous experience providing support to individuals with disabilities, preferably in a community-based or in-home setting (highly regarded)
