About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Greenskeeper to join the grounds maintenance team at Garfield Golf Club. This is a casual position based in Garfield, VIC 3814, offering flexible working arrangements to suit your availability. As Greenskeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the exceptional quality and presentation of our golf course, ensuring it remains a premier destination for our members and visitors. Your work will be instrumental in preserving the integrity and beauty of our grounds, directly contributing to the overall experience of everyone who visits our club.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining fairways, greens, and tees to the highest standards through regular mowing, edging, and grooming

• Operating and maintaining specialised turf care equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner

• Performing routine maintenance tasks including aeration, top-dressing, and fertiliser application

• Managing irrigation systems to ensure optimal turf health and water usage

• Identifying and treating turf diseases, weeds, and pest infestations

• Maintaining bunkers, water features, and landscaped areas throughout the course

• Ensuring all grounds areas are kept clean, safe, and free from hazards

• Collaborating with the grounds team to execute seasonal maintenance plans

• Following all health and safety protocols and club policies

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Greenskeeper or in golf course maintenance, or equivalent turf care experience

• Strong knowledge of turf management practices, including disease and pest control

• Competency in operating and maintaining turf care machinery and equipment

• Understanding of irrigation systems and their proper management

• Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Relevant qualifications in horticulture or turf management are advantageous

• Current driving licence is preferred
