A large and growing number of young people are challenged by low levels of self-worth and self-esteem; leading to a multitude of negative outcomes including physical and/or mental illness. LifeChanger empowers young people by building self-esteem, self-awareness, positive self-identity and resilience along with the development of skills and strategies to manage their physical and mental health.

LifeChangers' evidence-based program, trained and supported facilitators and trained community mentors develop young people with the emotional and social skills to live thriving, resilient lives.

THE ROLE

As a valued member of our programs team, you will have the exciting opportunity of facilitating our workshops in schools from years 5-12, as well as programs in sports clubs and community hubs.

Centring around our “show not tell” approach to learning, LifeChanger workshops allow each facilitator to utilise their individual strengths combined with our evidence based content to guide participants towards self-discoveries that they’ll be able to utilise for life!

As part of the Programs team, you will facilitate all LifeChanger programs. Workshops are predominately run through schools and community clubs to youth from the age of 10 - 18. Our sustainable model also includes senior students or community mentors to be a part of the youth program. The facilitator’s role is to build sustainable, growth-mindset communities through continuous learning and education in positive psychology.

PROGRAMS FACILITATOR

• Deliver high energy solo and co-facilitation of LifeChanger workshops, including Youth Program, Mentor Development Workshops, Immersion days and Holiday Programs. 

• Build rapport and make connections with participants.

• Run pre-briefing sessions with mentors to ensure understanding of delivery requirements and post briefing sessions to assess the workshop, look for improvement and ensure adherence with child safety protocols.

• Ensure a commitment to quality and “best practice” is demonstrated at all times to deliver on partner requirements and expectations.

• Measuring Impact - Ensure feedback is gathered and reviewed after all workshops. Make necessary recommendations for improvement.

• All LifeChanger staff must understand and abide by our Child Safe policies at all times.

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Previous facilitation experience not essential but highly preferable.

• A confident speaker who is able to create a fun and engaging space for young people to experience our program.

• Has a demonstrated ability to work cohesively within a team.

• Shows a passion for LifeChanger Foundation’s vision to build more resilient young people.

• Respects confidentiality and can respond to sensitive situations.

• ​​Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Working with Children's Check.

• Must hold a driver's license and have access to a car.
