The Role 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Grants & Projects Officer plays an important role in securing funding opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives and delivering projects that make a lasting impact across the football community.

Working across Football West and the Football Futures Foundation, you’ll identify grant opportunities, coordinate funding applications and acquittals, support organisation-wide reporting, and contribute to projects that help grow football throughout Western Australia.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you could be preparing a grant application to support a new community initiative, the next analysing data, coordinating strategic reporting, or working with stakeholders to deliver projects that support Football West’s long-term vision.

We recognise great talent comes in different forms. For the right candidate, we’re open to appointing this role on either a full-time basis (1.0 FTE) or part-time at 0.6 FTE (three days per week).

What you’ll be doing:

As our Grants & Projects Officer, you’ll play a key role in securing funding opportunities while providing the reporting and insights that help shape Football West’s strategic direction. Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and coordinating grant funding opportunities aligned with Football West’s strategic priorities.
• Preparing and submitting high-quality grant applications in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Supporting project planning, budgets, reporting and funding acquittals.
• Coordinating organisation-wide reporting across multiple departments, ensuring information is accurate, timely and presented consistently.
• Collecting, analysing and interpreting data to produce meaningful reports and insights that support informed decision-making.
• Monitoring funded projects against milestones, KPIs and reporting obligations.
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contributing to strategic initiatives that strengthen football across Western Australia.

About You 

You’re an organised and analytical professional who enjoys turning information into meaningful insights and high-quality reporting. Whether it’s preparing grant applications, analysing data or coordinating organisation-wide reports, you have a keen eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate, well-presented work that supports informed decision-making.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, can confidently manage competing priorities, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.

You’ll bring:

• Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Experience in organisational reporting, research or project coordination.
• Well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and present meaningful insights.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience coordinating grant applications, project administration or funding acquittals will be highly regarded.
• An interest in sport, community development or the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.

• Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
• National Police Clearance valid within three months of employment
