About the role
If you've spent years building your skills as an electrician and are wondering “what's next?”, training could be the career change you're looking for.
You don't need to come to us as an experienced trainer. We're interested in the industry knowledge, experience and attitude you can bring – we'll support you to develop the training skills.
Applications from interstate are also encouraged, with relocation assistance available for suitable applicants.
Company DescriptionAdelaide Training and Employment Centre (ATEC) RTO 0022 is South Australia’s largest private provider of construction, engineering and electrical apprenticeship training.
We are looking for experienced, qualified electricians who are ready for their next career move.
You do not need to already be a Trainer/Assessor to apply.
If you have strong electrical industry experience, enjoy sharing your knowledge and would like to help develop the next generation of tradespeople, we would love to hear from you.
At ATEC, you'll join a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant training and making a genuine difference in the careers of our apprentices.
The OpportunityBased at our Ottoway Campus, this full-time position involves delivering practical and theory-based training and assessment to electrical apprentices.
For electricians moving into training for the first time, ATEC can provide ongoing mentoring and support while you develop your skills as a Trainer/Assessor and complete the required training qualification.
This could be a great next step if you're looking to:
Step away from full-time work on the tools
Use your electrical knowledge in a different way
Share your experience with apprentices entering the industry
Develop a new career within vocational education and training
Enjoy the stability and benefits of a full-time training role
Are you looking to stay hybrid and continue to work on the tools but train and assess part-time? We would love to speak to you about flexible options.
What We're Looking ForEssential:
Electrical trade qualifications
Current/relevant electrical industry experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in teaching, mentoring and developing apprentices
Desirable – but not essential:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
Previous training, supervising, coaching or mentoring experience
Experience working with apprentices
Don't have your TAE?
That's okay. We welcome applications from qualified electricians who are willing to obtain their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and transition into a training career.
Salary & Benefits$95,000 – $105,000, based on experience and qualifications
Plus:
12% superannuation
17.5% annual leave loading
Additional paid annual leave day over the Christmas shutdown period
Relocation assistance for suitable interstate applicants
Attraction Bonus
Ongoing training and mentoring & we will pay for your TAE Qualification
Employee Assistance Program
Free onsite parking
Onsite café
Staff Reward and Recognition Program + Health and Wellbeing Giveback Program
Free Social Club with regular activities
Location: ATEC Ottoway Campus, 275 Grand Junction Road, Ottoway SA
