About the role
Perth Pain is a modern specialist pain management practice with consulting rooms at Hollywood Medical Centre, Nedlands and Murdoch Square. We are committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and pride ourselves on providing an exceptional experience for every patient.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Medical Receptionist / Administration Officer to join our friendly team on a part-time basis, working approximately 20–25 hours per week across 3–4 weekdays.
About the RoleAs the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and professional experience. Working closely with our clinical team, you will assist with patient administration, appointment coordination and the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering exceptional customer service to patients in person and over the phone
Managing appointment bookings, referrals and procedure scheduling
Coordinating patient enquiries in a professional and timely manner
Preparing clinic lists and maintaining accurate patient records
Data entry, scanning and electronic filing
Assisting with medical billing and payments (training provided)
Supporting the clinical team with general administrative duties
Providing reception cover during staff annual leave and sick leave when required
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and genuinely enjoys helping people.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding attention to detail and organisational ability
Strong computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Office
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
A professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach
High levels of integrity and respect for patient confidentiality
The ability to remain calm, empathetic and professional when supporting patients who may be experiencing chronic pain or distress
A willingness to learn and contribute positively to the team
The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:
Experience using Gentu medical practice software
Previous medical reception or specialist practice experience
Experience with medical billing
Applicants with strong customer service or administration experience from other industries are encouraged to apply, as comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.
