The Team

The LGH Transit Lounge is a unit within the Patient Access and Flow department. Operating in a fast-paced environment, it manages a high volume of patients between 08:30 and 18:00, Monday to Friday. The Transit Lounge supports patients who are awaiting discharge, transfer, or admission to an available bed.

Our dedicated nursing team is committed to delivering the highest standard of care.

The Role

The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering holistic patient care and fostering a safe, supportive environment. They provide evidence-based care aligned with the nursing care plan and participates in Quality Improvement initiatives. The Registered Nurse actively contributes to the planning and evaluation of patient care and health information. They participate in multidisciplinary discussions to support the achievement of desired patient outcomes and operate under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager.

You will need

A minimum of 3 years acute care experience is requiredUnderstand and adhere to relevant legislation, policies and procedures and complies with mandatory education, training and assessmentKnowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice in the practice setting

Details of appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date until 31 December 2026.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
