About the role

Big4 Gold Coast Holiday Park & Motel is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Helensvale, Queensland. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our holiday park and motel, ensuring excellence in service delivery, maintaining operational efficiency, and creating memorable experiences for our guests. You will play a crucial role in driving our business objectives, managing staff performance, and optimising our facilities to deliver outstanding hospitality standards across all operational areas.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the holiday park and motel, including guest services, facility maintenance, and staff management

• Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance to ensure profitability and cost control

• Recruit, train, supervise and develop a diverse team of hospitality professionals, fostering a positive workplace culture

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations, and company policies

• Maintain and coordinate maintenance schedules for facilities, amenities and equipment to guarantee guest satisfaction

• Monitor and optimise occupancy rates and revenue management strategies

• Handle guest complaints and resolve issues professionally and promptly to maintain high satisfaction ratings

• Implement and maintain quality assurance standards across all operational departments

• Liaise with management on performance metrics, guest feedback and strategic operational improvements

• Manage vendor relationships, procurement and inventory control

What we're looking for

• 5+ years' experience in hospitality operations management, preferably within a holiday park, resort or motel environment

• Proven track record of managing budgets, revenue and profitability in a hospitality setting

• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests and staff

• Knowledge of hospitality systems and property management software

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

• Understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance requirements in the hospitality industry

• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences

• Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (preferred)
