Towong Shire Council provides four Early Years services across the Shire; located in Bellbridge, Corryong, Walwa and Tallangatta. Across these services we’re looking for Trainees, Educators, Senior Educators, Room Leaders and Teachers (FT, PT and Casual), to deliver developmentally based educational programs to meet the needs of children and the community.

Remuneration (FTE)

• Trainee – $27.57 per hour
• Educator – $34.34 to $36.48 per hour
• Senior Educator – $36.73 to $38.56 per hour
• Room Leader – $39.13 to $44.67 per hour
• Teacher – $41.63 to $48.12 per hour

Remuneration is full-time equivalent, plus superannuation, plus casual loading for casual roles, and is dependent on skills and experience.

What you can expect

• Deliver quality programs that create a safe and engaging environment for children’s play and learning, catering to all abilities. 
• Act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor, overseeing daily operations of the service. 
• Develop positive relationships with children and families, using information to support holistic development and keep parents informed about program activities.
• Maintain accurate administrative records, including attendance and health reports, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory frameworks. 
• Stay updated on professional knowledge through training and maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and policies related to children’s services. 

To be successful

• Qualifications specific to the role, and demonstrable skills and knowledge in Early Years practices. (Not required for trainee roles).
• Sound knowledge of the issues and needs that affect young children and their families, and experience in applying strategies to support inclusive practice and positive outcomes for children. (Not required for trainee roles).
• Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework and VEYLD and an understanding of how to apply and adopt relevant policies, standards and regulations into the program. (Not required for trainee roles).
• Experience and proven ability to work cooperatively with parents and families. (Not required for trainee roles).
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
• Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Australian Working Rights.
