Role Description This full-time Behaviour Support Practitioner role is a hybrid position based in Adelaide, SA, with a mix of on-site community work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting functional behaviour assessments, developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans, and providing coaching and training to clients, families, and support staff. The practitioner will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend client meetings, and maintain accurate, timely documentation and reports. The role also involves monitoring outcomes, reviewing plans regularly, and adjusting strategies based on client progress and feedback. Participation in supervision, professional development activities, and adherence to relevant clinical and regulatory standards is expected.
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, or a closely related field.Demonstrated experience in behaviour support, Positive Behaviour Support, or working with individuals with disability, neurodiversity, or complex needs.Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management capabilities, with attention to detail and confidentiality.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and support teams.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing time and caseload effectively.Knowledge of relevant legislation, NDIS frameworks, and best-practice guidelines in behaviour support (or willingness to learn).Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally for community and home visits as required.Current working with children and vulnerable people clearances, and commitment to safeguarding and ethical practice.Interest in ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and contributing to a supportive team culture.
