Mechanical Engineer

We are working with a leading resources client to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a long-term contract through to the end of June 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing maintenance team, providing engineering support across a large-scale processing operation.

Working an 8/6 roster (Wednesday to Wednesday) with 12-hour days, you will fly FIFO from Townsville to a regional Queensland site. In this role, you will provide technical maintenance engineering support, conduct failure investigations, develop maintenance work scopes and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.

You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to deliver safe, reliable and efficient plant performance while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day mechanical maintenance engineering support.
• Conduct equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis.
• Develop maintenance work scopes and repair strategies.
• Identify and implement equipment reliability improvements.
• Support maintenance planning and execution activities.
• Collaborate with site stakeholders to optimise plant performance.

About You

• Proven background in mechanical maintenance engineering within heavy industry.
• Strong capability in equipment reliability and failure investigations.
• Experience developing maintenance work scopes and engineering solutions.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Eligible to work in Australia.
