Job Description

The role of Early Childhood Teacher is essential in ensuring that our Education and Care Centres deliver high-quality education and care for children. These temporary positions will support and implement effective early childhood learning programs tailored to the developmental needs of each child, adhering to the Early Years Learning Framework and our council's objectives.

Key activities of this role include:

• Deliver engaging learning experiences that support children's development.
• Implement quality education programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Provide education and care across the appointed Coastal Kids centre, supporting quality outcomes for children and families.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and team members.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and caring learning environment.

Applicant Profile

We are looking for adaptable and dedicated individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and care.

• Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education with ongoing professional development.
• Current accreditation in Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk.
• Provisional or Proficient Teacher Accreditation and a valid Working with Children Check.
• Current Provide First Aid qualification
• Current Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
• Current Certificate in Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management;
• Demonstrated experience in early childhood settings with strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Applicants will be required to provide evidence of Boostrix (Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Diptheria); MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Hepatitis A & B or the commencement of these vaccinations prior to commencement

The ideal candidate will be flexible with working hours and possess the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, children, families, and community stakeholders. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism will be key to your success in this role.

Offer Details

The commencing salary for this position is up to $43.85 per hour. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $50.81 per hour on completion of assessment of skills and/or performance plus 12% superannuation

• We have one full-time temporary position at Coastal Kids Kanwal until November 2027. This role is working 35 hours per week and will be able to access a 19 day month.

• We have one part-time temporary position for 14 hours per week at Coastal Kids Umina until December 2026, with potential for the timeframe to be extended to continue longer.
