About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare professional to join our team at Tattle Tales Pre School in Tarrawanna NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, development and learning of young children. You will work collaboratively with our experienced educators to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Your contribution will be fundamental to delivering exceptional care and fostering positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Providing direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety, health and wellbeing at all times

• Supporting educators in planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities and experiences

• Assisting with daily routines including meals, nappy changes, toileting and rest time

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment within designated areas

• Building positive relationships with children and responding to their individual needs and interests

• Supporting the implementation of centre policies and procedures

• Communicating effectively with families regarding their child's progress, needs and development

• Fostering an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates diversity

• Assisting with behaviour guidance using positive, age-appropriate strategies

What we're looking for

• A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to complete training)

• Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Physical capability to lift, carry and engage in active play with young children

• Patience, flexibility and a calm approach to managing challenging situations

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

• Previous experience in early childhood education or childcare is highly desirable

• Understanding of child development and play-based learning principles is preferred
