Pet ICU Veterinary Nurse

Pet ICU Underwood is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our ICU team, providing exceptional care for critically ill patients in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

This is an amazing opportunity to work alongside experienced Emergency and Critical Care veterinarians and nurses, managing complex and rewarding cases while receiving ongoing mentoring, training, and professional development.

Permanent Part-Time role (40 hours per fortnight) working 14 shifts across a 4-week rotating roster, including 5:00am, 1:00pm and 9:00pm starts, weekends and public holidays, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

As a Part-Time Pet ICU Nurse, You Will

Deliver high-quality nursing care to ICU and emergency patientsMonitor critically ill patients and perform ongoing assessmentsAdminister medications and treatments in line with hospital protocolsAssist with advanced critical care procedures, including transfusion medicine, high-flow oxygen therapy, feeding tubes, ventilation.Communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary teamMaintain excellent standards of infection control and patient care

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary TechnologyStrong experience in veterinary nursing (ICU, ECC, or referral hospital experience highly regarded)Strong communication and organisational skillsA passion for patient care and continuous learningThe ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced clinical environmentAvailability to work across a 24-hour rosterAdditional ECC qualifications, Elevate ECC participation, or critical care training will be highly regarded but are not essential.
