3D Modeller / Structural Draftsperson

The role

We are seeking an experienced 3D Modeller / Structural Draftsperson to join our team in Cheltenham, Victoria. This is a full-time, in-office position wotking alongside our Senior Draftsman and General Manager where you will be responsible for managing and driving the overarching design direction of each project forward.

Our projects include large-scale play towers, pedestrian bridges, boardwalks, and shade structures. These projects vary in scale, form, and complexity, so we are looking for someone with advanced 3D modelling skills, a good understanding of structural design concepts, and solid experience in construction and technical design coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high-quality 3D models and 2D/3D structural drawings

• Produce Building Approval and Issue For Construction drawings

• Liaise with Clients to produce Concept Design drawings

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and translate them into technical drawings

• Review and approval of Steel Detailer drawings

• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant Australian Standards and industry best practice

• Provide support and guidance to Project Managers, Fabricators and on-site team members

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes and documentation
  

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience as a 3D Modeller and/or Structural Draftsperson (preferably in open space infrastructure or landscape design)

• Advanced 3D Modelling skills in Revit and Autocad (you must be able to create adaptive components / parametric models / families / parts / components from scratch) 

• Good understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines across simultaneous projects

• Good communication and design coordination skills to work effectively with Clients, Project Managers and Fabricators
