Training & Education Coordinator (RAES)

Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation (Laynha) is looking for a motivated, organised and community-minded Training & Education Coordinator to join our Remote Area Employment Services (RAES) team.

This is an opportunity to coordinate education and vocational training opportunities across remote communities, helping participants build practical skills, increase their confidence and connect with pathways into employment, work experience, further education and apprenticeships.

About Us

For more than 40 years, Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation has supported Yolŋu people living across approximately 30 homelands in East Arnhem Land.

Through our employment and community programs, we work alongside Yolŋu people to create opportunities for skills development, employment and greater economic participation.

About the Program

RAES is a federally funded employment program delivered by Laynha across Arnhem Land. It supports local job seekers to build skills, overcome barriers, and move into sustainable employment through a flexible, strengths-based and community-led approach.

About the Role

You’ll coordinate the delivery of education and training programs across RAES service locations. Your days will be varied and may include:

• Coordinating training programs and developing annual training schedules.
• Working with communities, employers, training providers and operational teams to plan training opportunities.
• Supporting participant enrolments, attendance, completion and certification.
• Maintaining accurate participant records and training databases.
• Liaising with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to ensure training is delivered to agreed standards.
• Supporting participants to move from training into employment, work experience, apprenticeships or further education.
• Promoting education and training opportunities within communities.
• Identifying and helping overcome barriers that may prevent participants from attending or completing training.
• Supporting culturally appropriate delivery of education and training programs.
• Assisting with compliance, reporting and audits.

You’ll work closely with participants and communities, building relationships and finding practical ways to make training accessible, relevant and valuable.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Experience coordinating or delivering education and training programs.
• An understanding of vocational education and pathways into employment.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Good administration, scheduling, reporting and record-keeping skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Cultural awareness and a genuine commitment to working respectfully with First Nations communities.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• A willingness to regularly travel to remote communities.
• A current open manual driver’s licence.

Experience working in remote or community-based education, training or employment programs will be highly regarded.
