Import Freight All-Rounder (operations)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Import Freight Operations professional to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight forwarding all-rounder who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish and delivering a high level of service to customers.

·   Managing import sea and airfreight shipments from origin through to final delivery

·   Receiving, checking and processing import documentation

·   Monitoring shipment progress and keeping customers informed

·   Coordinating customs documentation and liaising with the customs team.

·   Arranging cartage, container deliveries, unpacking and final transport

·   Liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers and depots

·   Managing shipment milestones and ensuring files are updated accurately

·   Checking supplier invoices and completing job costing

·   Resolving operational issues quickly and professionally

·   Maintaining strong relationships with customers and service providers

·   Previous freight forwarding experience in import operations, ideally 5 years or greater.

·   Experience handling both sea and airfreight shipments

·   Strong import documentation and cartage coordination skills

·   A good understanding of Australian customs and biosecurity processes

·   Excellent communication and proven customer service skills

·   Strong attention to detail and organisational ability

·   The ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities

·   A proactive approach to problem-solving

·   Experience using CargoWise would be highly regarded

·   Export sea or airfreight experience would be a definite advantage

·   A varied, hands-on operational role
