About us:

Hartleys Lawyers is a family law firm established in 2001, which has expanded across twelve offices around Melbourne, with our head office located in Fitzroy.

The team currently comprises of eleven solicitors (which comprises of a management team of six principal solicitors and senior associates) plus office administrative staff.

We undertake predominantly family law matters, however as a full-service family law firm we also provide legal services with associated matters relating to family violence intervention orders, police prosecution, wills and estates and conveyancing.

About the Role:

We're seeking a dedicated family lawyer with strong technical expertise across all aspects of family law and a genuine commitment to securing the best outcomes for clients. In this role, you'll manage a varied caseload and take full ownership of your matters from beginning to end, all within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

About You:

• Admitted to practice as a solicitor in Victoria and a current practising certificate.

• For the graduate/junior applicants, post-admission experience in family law is highly desirable (or equivalent experience in associated areas of law). The right candidate with no post-graduate experience will also be considered.

• For the more senior applicants, a demonstrated expertise in family law, with a strong understanding of the relevant legislation and case law is highly desirable.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and billings.

• A client-focused, ethical approach with a genuine passion for family law.

• A collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive, collegiate environment.
