About the role
We are seeking compassionate and motivated people to join a small, established support team, providing personalised in-home and community support to an individual living with a progressive physical disability.
This role operates under a direct-employment model, meaning you will work directly for the person you support as part of their dedicated team.
Previous disability support experience is not essential. We are interested in people from a range of professional backgrounds who have transferable skills, the right attitude and a genuine willingness to learn. Comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing support will be provided.
Fitness, health and wellbeing
Massage therapy
Hospitality, food service or customer service
Cleaning and home support
Music, Art and creative activities
Beauty and personal care
Disability, health or community services
Sport, recreation and outdoor activities
Your experience doesn't need to be in disability support. We value the skills, interests and life experience you can bring to the role.
Working one-to-one within the person's home and community, you may provide support with:
Personal care and daily routines
Safe transfers, positioning and mobility
Meal preparation and household tasks
Community access, appointments and outings
Individual interests, hobbies and wellbeing activities
Safe use of assistive equipment
Following individualised care plans and established routines
Maintaining accurate support documentation
Working collaboratively with the support team and allied health professionals
Participating in ongoing training specific to the person's needs
We are looking for someone who is:
Good communicator and active listener
Reliable, professional and willing to learn
Comfortable providing one-to-one support
Confident working independently in a person's home
Able to work collaboratively as part of a small team
Respectful of privacy, dignity, choice and professional boundaries
Committed to providing consistent, high-quality support
Caring, respectful and person-centred
Experience supporting people with physical disability, complex support needs or neuromuscular conditions is highly regarded but not essential.
Paid on-the-job training and induction
Training specific to the person's individual support needs
Ongoing mentoring and support
Flexible casual and part-time opportunities
A small, supportive and person-centred team
Meaningful work where consistency, relationships and quality support matter
Successful applicants will need, or be willing to obtain:
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
National Police Check
Current First Aid and CPR
Australian driver's licence and reliable transport
Food Safety certificate
Relevant NDIS worker training
Right to work in Australia
Whether you're an experienced Disability Support Worker or looking for a new direction where you can bring your existing skills into disability support, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send your resume and a short cover letter telling us a little about yourself, your experience and interests, and what you could bring to a small, dedicated support team.
