Maintenance Fitter and Turner

Reporting directly to the Process Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is a key role in our onsite maintenance team in Brooklyn. We are work with meat byproducts so you would need to be comfortable in this industry. The maintenance fitter will provide trade assistance towards the upkeep, installation, and troubleshooting of all production-based equipment, plant, and machinery, with the key focus of ensuring operational efficiency targets, minimal downtime and focus on continuous improvement. Some overtime and weekend work is available. Ideally you are currently working in a manufacturing environment and are safety focused and physically fit.

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

• Onsite mechanical work – welding in necessary

• Undertake servicing and preventative maintenance of all machinery, plant and equipment

• Fault finding and repairs on manufacturing equipment

• Liaising with other trades, contractors, maintenance, and production management

• Update and maintain preventative maintenance records on works carried out

In order to be considered for this position you must possess the following:

• Hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a mechanical environment

• Q Fever Immune (if not immune - agreeable to getting vaccination)

• Welding, Boiler Making, and Fabrication experience.
