Financial Accountant

Summary:

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial management across the business. This position is ideally suited to a proactive finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to take ownership, drive improvement and outcomes, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

·Manage general ledger activities including month end journals.

·Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary on business performance.

·Prepare cashflow forecasting and support budgeting processes.

·Partner with operational and senior leadership teams to deliver financial insights, performance reporting, and commercial support.

·Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and areas for cost optimisation.

·Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

·Drive continuous improvements in financial processes, controls and systems.

·Manage tax compliance obligations including BAS, GST and payroll tax requirements.

About You

·CPA or CA qualified with a relevant tertiary degree.

·Proven experience in a hands-on Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant role, or public practice background.

·Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial data.

·Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to day-to-day financial tasks.

·A collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to contribute to a positive team culture while maintaining accountability for outcomes.

·Experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and strong excel capability.

·Systems and process optimisation experience.

·Confident communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of the business.
