About the role
Leadership Opportunity Within a Growing Company
Source Machinery is a proudly Western Australian owned company based in Kewdale, specialising in the sale, service and support of construction, agricultural, mining and material handling equipment. As authorised dealers for Merlo Telehandlers and Kubota Construction & Power Equipment, we continue to experience strong growth and are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Supervisor to join our team.
Reporting to the Service Manager, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, supervising technicians and apprentices, co-ordinating maintenance and repair activities, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day operations of the workshop.
Allocate work to technicians and apprentices based on priorities, workload and skill levels.
Monitor job progress and ensure repairs and servicing are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Provide technical support and guidance for complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics.
Conduct quality control inspections and ensure machines are completed to a high standard before release to customers.
Review job cards for accuracy, labour allocation and consumables usage.
Assist with preparation of quotations, job costing and workshop administration.
Co-ordinate parts requirements and liaise closely with the Parts Department.
Lead, mentor and develop workshop technicians and apprentices.
Support employee performance development and training initiatives.
Liaise with customers regarding repairs, servicing and maintenance requirements.
Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency and service quality.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across workshop systems and processes.
Maintain a safe, compliant and organised workshop environment.
Ensure compliance with Company policies, WHS legislation and industry best practices.
To be successful in this role you will have
Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Diesel Technician, Mobile Plant Technician or equivalent.
Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Workshop Supervisor or similar leadership role.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
Experience working with construction, earthmoving, agricultural, mining or material handling equipment.
Proven ability to lead, mentor and motivate a team.
Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience with workshop administration, quotations and job costing.
A strong focus on quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Sound computer skills, including experience with diagnostic software and workshop management systems.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
Desirable
Experience with Merlo, Kubota or similar machinery brands.
Experience with warranty administration and manufacturer warranty processes.
Forklift Licence.
Frontline leadership or management training.
