Warehouse Supervisor (Night Shift)

The Fish Factory is excited to announce an opportunity for a Warehouse/Packing Supervisor to join our team! This role is a vital part of our wholesale operational and functions as a senior position to help lead, manage and control the packing operations of our wholesale business.

The role is best suited to a candidate that is seeking a full-time, permanent night-shift position in a supervisory capacity. Leading the packing operations daily, the role will see the successful candidate take full control of the packing team and lead daily outcomes with a co-supervisor operating in the same role.

The Role

This is a full-time on-site position working 5 days per week, including a Saturday shift. Shifts will start at 12AM daily, to assist in preparation of the packing room, organising of stock and general operations duties prior to commencing pack-out. Possessing a strong understanding of wholesale operations and warehouse process flow, the ideal candidate will bring strong experience to our packing team. Being a naturally people-driven supervisor, the successful candidate will become the main point of contact for all inquiries related to our packing team.

The role demands the candidate to be physically fit and able to conduct adequate physical labour. Previous experience in the seafood industry is highly desirable, along with proven experience managing people and operational efficiencies.

The main areas of responsibility are (AOR)

·         Receipt, sorting, handling of fish, seafood and marine products

·         Lead operations and the packing crew on a daily basis

·         Handle and be responsible for recoveries/yields of fish

·         Daily preparation of seafood for next-day operation

·         Maintain oversight across quality control, ensuring minimal packing errors and discrepancies

·         Creation and management of rosters and workflow

·         Packing and loading of customer orders

·         Filleting and/or general seafood processing duties if required

·         Check off goods received, weighing, record keeping and storage of product

·         Cleaning and sanitising of tools, equipment and machinery

Experience, Qualifications & Personal Attributes

Essential

1.     Previous experience leading a packing team and/or warehouse operations

2.     Sound experience working with seafood products and within the seafood industry

3.     Proven experience supervising people

4.     Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements

5.     Ability to organise, prioritise, multitask, be flexible and meet deadlines

6.     Strong communication skills

7.     Ability to follow instruction and work efficiently

8.     A natural people-person with an approachable character

9.     Reliable and punctual

Desirable

1.     Previous extensive experience in the seafood industry

2.     Seafood pick-packing experience
