Thompson Bros Video Alarms has been delivering specialised electronic security solutions since 2008. We provide consultancy, installation, servicing, monitoring station integration and technical support for video alarm systems, CCTV, time lapse cameras and nurse call systems.

Today, we install and maintain security systems for more than 600 active sites across Australia, with permanent staff located in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Our clients include many well-established national companies, particularly within the construction and commercial sectors, where our systems help protect sites from theft, vandalism, arson and unauthorised access.

Due to continued growth in NSW, we are seeking experienced Security Technicians to join our team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on field-based role installing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining a range of electronic security systems across the Greater Sydney area.

You will be working independently on customer sites while also supporting and mentoring junior technicians when required.

The systems you will work with include:

* Video alarm systems

* CCTV systems

* Time lapse camera systems

* Nurse call systems

You will liaise directly with site managers, project managers and our commercial clients, representing Thompson Bros with a professional and customer-focused approach.

The role is primarily based throughout Greater Sydney, with occasional travel throughout regional NSW and interstate when required.

Standard working hours are generally between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime available when required.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, takes pride in quality workmanship and can confidently manage installations from start to finish.

To be successful you will ideally have:

·         Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Security Technician or Alarm Technician role

·         Strong installation, commissioning and fault-finding skills

·         Good networking, IP systems and general PC knowledge

·         Experience working independently and managing your own workload

·         Excellent communication and customer service skills

·         The ability to mentor junior technicians where required

·         Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tools, equipment and vehicle stock

·         A professional attitude when dealing with clients and site personnel

Essential Requirements

·         Australian resident with full working rights

·         Current Driver Licence

·         Construction White Card

·         Physically capable of working with tools, climbing ladders and accessing roof spaces, underfloor areas and rooftops

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

The following are desirable but not essential:

·         Security Equipment Installer Licence

·         Open Cabling Registration

·         Working at Heights certification

·         EWP qualification

·         Experience with Dahua, Hikvision, Milesight and Bosch systems

·         Experience installing, programming and commissioning monitored video alarm systems
