About the role 

Multiworks Australia is seeking an experienced Plant Operator/ Labourers (all-rounders) to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure permanent, ongoing employment with a leading infrastructure contractor, working across a range of civil and utility infrastructure projects throughout Victoria and regional locations. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating plant and equipment while contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities 

• Operating excavators and other civil plant and equipment safely and efficiently
• Undertaking trenching, batter work and excavation activities in accordance with project requirements
• Completing daily plant and equipment inspections using pre-start checklists
• Assisting with general site labouring and construction activities as required
• Working in accordance with JSEAs, SWMS and site-specific quality, safety and environmental plans
• Delivering work safely, on time and to a high standard of quality
• Following direction from supervisors and site management teams
• Maintaining high levels of safety and environmental compliance at all times
• Contributing positively to project teams and client relationships

What we're looking for 

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating excavators in a civil construction environment
• Demonstrated ability to operate GPS-equipped plant and machinery
• Proven experience undertaking trenching and batter work
• Experience operating machinery within the high voltage or electrical sector is highly regarded
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
• Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, standards and practices
• Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of site duties
• Current Construction Induction (White Card)
• Relevant plant operator licences and competencies
• Willingness to travel and work remotely on regional projects when required
• Willing to undergo a Medical and Police Check
