Heavy Road Transport Diesel Mechanic – Workshop/ Field Service

About the role

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of heavy vehicles and equipment. You will work across workshop, mobile and field-based environments, servicing customers throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs

• Working on prime movers, rigid trucks, trailers, and heavy vehicles

• Mechanical fault finding and diagnostics

• Hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis

• Brake, suspension and steering repairs

• Cooling system, clutch, gearbox, and engine repairs

• Inspections and identification of required repairs

• Preventative maintenance

• Mobile breakdown and field service work

• Completing accurate job notes and service records

About you

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or similar

• Previous experience working on heavy road transport vehicles

• Strong knowledge of trucks, trailers, and heavy vehicle systems

• Experience with mechanical diagnostics and fault finding

• Hydraulic and electrical diagnostic experience

• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills

• A high standard of workmanship

• Good communication skills

• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

• Current driver's licence
