The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of expanding and maintaining a competent and enabled health workforce. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the last decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce skill sets, train existing staff to maximise opportunities for business development and quality of care, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.

About the Role?

As the Team Lead Trainer and Assessor, you will provide leadership, guidance and support to a team of Trainers and Assessors, building a connected and collaborative team culture focused on delivering exceptional learning experiences, quality training outcome and learner success.

You will oversee the day-to-day training and assessment operations of EMPOWA Training, IUIH's Registered Training Organisation (RTO), while mentoring staff, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring our programs remain culturally responsive, learner-focused, and aligned with industry standards, the IUIH Cultural Integrity Investment Framework (CIIF), and Clinical Quality and Safety Standards.

Your day to day duties may include:

• Manage and lead the Trainer and Assessors to maintain high standards of delivery and assessment practices.
• Facilitate and deliver training and conduct assessment activities as required, ensuring your own trainer & assessor currency.
• Empowering a team of Trainers and Assessors to achieve outstanding learner and training outcomes.
• Identifying opportunities to enhance learner experiences, training resources and program delivery.
• Proactively monitor the quality of training and assessment delivery identifying issues and implementing resolutions - Ensure Continuous improvement practices are adhered to.
• Embed the IUIH Cultural Integrity Investment Framework (CIIF) and organisational values into training practices and team leadership.
• Provide periodic training and assessment performance and activity reports to the RTO Manager.

About You?

• Current Criminal History Check
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
• Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card)
• Current Disability Worker Screening Check (Qld Yellow Card)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
• A qualification in Allied heath Assisting, Primary Health Care, Community Services, Individual Support, Business or equivalent.
• Ability to travel across South East Queensland (SEQ) as required

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
