A community-focused medical centre is seeking a General Practitioner who is passionate about community health and is driven to make a significant impact. Located in Kuranda , a DPA-approved location within the lush, tropical surrounds of Cairns, this position is ideal for both VR and non-VR GPs , including international medical graduates, with locum opportunities also available.

The centre functions as an unofficial Acute Non-Emergency (ANE) ruralist emergency medicine facility, servicing the wider community and tablelands. It works closely with Queensland Health to deliver comprehensive healthcare with a strong focus on chronic care, social and well-being, and Indigenous health.

The practice is equipped with six consultation rooms, two treatment rooms, and a nursing station. Practitioners will be part of a dedicated team of doctors and supported by experienced and professional nurses and receptionists, including two full-time nurses who are highly trained in complex wound care and Chronic Disease Management (CDM). The centre also offers co-located allied health services, including a dental group, pathology, and community health services.

Practitioners are offered clinical autonomy and flexible working arrangements. The practice is a registrar training facility, with supervisor opportunities available. The practice's partnership with the RACGP simplifies the process of achieving and recording CPD requirements, with free in-house opportunities and discounted registration for industry events also provided.

Support is also available for practitioners with a special interest in areas such as skin, aesthetics, and occupational medicine. For international medical graduates, there is an excellent opportunity to transition smoothly into the Australian healthcare system with the guidance of a dedicated and experienced IMG supervisor. The practice is backed by a major healthcare division, providing sophisticated IT, marketing, and finance services with 24-hour IT support.
