The Radiopharmaceuticals we create every day in our laboratories are delivered in the same day and injected into patients requiring diagnoses or treatment of different types of diseases, in this role you will have a direct impact on the Nuclear Medicine industry and their patients.
We are seeking a full time Radiochemist to join the production team. The facility is located in Arncliffe, reporting directly to the Site Manager. The successful candidate must be available for a rotating roster between night, early morning and day shifts.
What does the job look like?
Undertaking the compounding of radioactive substances and reagents to prepare radiopharmaceuticals following laboratory procedures
Performing daily activities of Radio-pharmacy i.e. customer order receipt, raw material ordering, pharmacy operations
Completing of Quality control testing on products
Maintaining control records for receipt, storage, preparation and disposal of radioactive isotopes
Ensuring the accurate labelling, packing of radiopharmaceuticals
Preparing required shipping documents, placards, dangerous goods declarations, customer labels and delivery bags
Cleaning and sanitising items for next production cycle.
Co-ordinating the disposal of returned materials following waste management procedures, including safe radiation disposal
Cleaning and daily housekeeping practices in line with GMP standards
Managing inventory control
Answering customer enquiries and confirming of scripts
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will need to have key personal attributes which include but are not limited to:
Ability to communicate effectively
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work rotating roster (including night shift)
Initiative and self-motivation
Current driver's license
A strong work ethic and team spirit
Good level of physical fitness (must be able to lift 15-20 kg)
Tertiary qualified in science or related disciplines (chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry)
