About the role
Maroondah Kids Early Learning Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher (ECT) to join our team on a part-time basis (5 days). Based in Croydon, VIC 3136, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood development and education.
As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment where children aged 3-5 years can thrive. You will work collaboratively with families and colleagues to deliver high-quality early childhood education, fostering social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through structured and non structured experiences. This position is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional early childhood care and education that supports each child's individual growth and development.
Key responsibilities
Planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that support children's learning across all developmental domains
Observing and assessing children's progress, documenting their learning journey and identifying individual developmental needs
Creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration, creativity and positive relationships
Building strong partnerships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences and collaborative goal-setting
Promoting positive behaviour management strategies and supporting emotional literacy and social skills development
Maintaining detailed records and reports on individual children's progress and developmental milestones
Contributing to the centre's curriculum development and continuous improvement processes
Collaborating with fellow educators, support staff and specialists to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
Adhering to all centre policies, procedures, health and safety regulations, and duty of care requirements
What we're looking for
A recognised Early Childhood Teaching qualification (ECT), such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings
Working with Children Check (WWC) or willingness to obtain one
Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and ability to implement play-based learning approaches
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Experience planning and delivering developmentally appropriate educational programs for kindergarten-aged children
Knowledge of child safeguarding, duty of care and mandatory reporting obligations
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
A genuine passion for early childhood education and commitment to supporting each child's individual development
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to centre culture
