This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for professionals who are confident supporting participants with high and complex support needs while providing safe, person-centred care.If you have experience working with participants who have behaviours of concern, mental health challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual disability or other complex support needs, we'd love to hear from you.About the roleAs a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality support both within participants' homes and in the community. You will work closely with participants, families and allied health professionals to help individuals achieve their goals while promoting independence, choice and dignity.Your responsibilities will include:Providing person-centred support within SIL homes and the community.Assisting with personal care, daily living skills and meal preparation.Administering medication in accordance with care plans and organisational policies.Supporting participants to achieve their NDIS goals and increase independence.Implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Positive Behaviour Support strategies.Supporting participants with complex physical, behavioural and psychosocial support needs.Encouraging community participation, social engagement and skill development.Building positive, respectful and professional relationships with participants and their families.Completing accurate progress notes, incident reports and required documentation.Working collaboratively with families, coordinators and allied health professionals.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Minimum 2 years' experience working as an NDIS Support Worker.Previous SIL experience (essential).Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours and mental health.Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).Experience supporting participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and Psychosocial Disability.A calm, patient and professional approach in challenging situations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong documentation and reporting skills.A reliable, flexible and proactive attitude.The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.Highly desirableApplicants with the following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health or Community Services.High Intensity Support Skills.Medication Administration.Epilepsy Management.Diabetes Management.Manual Handling and Hoist experience.Mental Health First Aid.Essential requirementsCurrent NDIS Worker Screening Check.Working with Children Check.Current Australian Driver Licence.Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.Australian working rights.Why join YAY Today?💜 Consistent SIL and community support shifts.💜 Opportunities to work with participants requiring long-term, meaningful supports.💜 Supportive leadership team that values your wellbeing and professional growth.💜 Ongoing training and professional development.💜 Career progression opportunities within a growing NDIS provider.💜 Employee wellbeing support, including confidential counselling services.💜 Competitive hourly rates.💜 A positive and collaborative workplace where your contribution is genuinely valued.Why our team loves working at YAY TodayAt YAY Today, we believe great support starts with great people.
