Master Guides Australia This is a hands-on engineering position supporting multiple customer environments, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, technical problem-solving, and working with different infrastructure platforms. The successful applicant will be involved in day-to-day managed services as well as infrastructure improvements, technology deployments, client projects, and technical escalations.

You will work closely with customers, internal engineers, and external technology partners to maintain stable, secure, and high-performing IT environments. This is not a single-site support role. The position requires an engineer who can assess different environments, understand business requirements, and apply the appropriate technical solution.

Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and recurring technical issues. Build, configure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and associated services.

Assist with the delivery of customer infrastructure upgrades, migrations and new deployments. Maintain reliable connectivity across office, remote and multi-site environments. Support enterprise wireless environments and investigate performance and coverage issues.

Administer Microsoft-based infrastructure, identity platforms and business productivity services. Maintain virtualisation platforms, backup systems and physical server infrastructure. Monitor customer environments and respond to alerts, performance issues and service degradation.

Perform infrastructure assessments and identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and performance. Assist with cybersecurity investigations, vulnerability remediation and security improvement activities. Work with third-party suppliers and technology vendors when specialist assistance is required.

Participate in planned maintenance, after-hours work and critical incident escalations when required. Provide technical advice to customers and contribute to solution design and technology recommendations. Technical Background Networking Enterprise Cisco switching and routing Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and network troubleshooting VLANs, STP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF and BGP Multi-site and resilient network environments SD-WAN, SDA, ACI or comparable software-defined networking technologies Wireless & Network Access Cisco wireless infrastructure Enterprise WLAN troubleshooting and optimisation Wireless controllers and access points 802.1x, Cisco ISE or equivalent NAC experience Security Firewall administration and troubleshooting Cisco FMC/Firepower or equivalent technologies Identity-based network access Familiarity with NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks Microsoft & Systems Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID Windows Server and Group Policy Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online Microsoft Configuration Manager/SCCM or equivalent Windows endpoint administration, user, device and access management Infrastructure VMware/ESXi or comparable virtualisation platforms Backup technologies such as Veeam Physical server infrastructure Dell server hardware and remote management technologies Citrix or other application-delivery platforms Cloud Microsoft Azure, Azure networking and hybrid connectivity VPN and remote-access technologies Qualification & experience Essential 3+ years of professional experience in network engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering or a closely related position.

Minimum master’s degree in network security, Systems Security, Cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related discipline. Relevant experience supporting business or large enterprise IT environments. Strong understanding of networking principles and infrastructure troubleshooting.

Experience working with Microsoft-based systems and identity services. Demonstrated ability to investigate technical problems and deliver practical solutions. Ability to work professionally with customers and communicate technical information clearly.

Desirable Training & Certifications Candidates with training or certifications in areas such as the following will be highly regarded: Cisco network security and firewall technologies Microsoft Azure networking Cisco wireless NIST cyber risk management Cisco CCNA/CCNP or comparable networking qualifications Equivalent professional experience and industry-recognised training will also be considered where appropriate.
