The Opportunity

As part of our electrical team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance and installation services across remote site operations while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.

This is a casual role on a 2/2 roster, offering FIFO arrangements from Cairns & Brisbane to our Project sit at Amrun, operated by Rio Tinto. Local residents to Weipa will be highly regarded.
Please note, Amrun runs as a dry camp

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding, and breakdown repairs

• Install, test, and commission electrical systems and equipment

• Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards and site procedures

• Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and documentation accurately

• Follow remote site operational procedures

• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings

• Identify potential issues and escalate to supervisors to prevent delays

About You

• Previous experience in mining or heavy industrial environments (preferred)

• Strong understanding of remote site work practices (essential)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Clear and effective communication skills

• Commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship

Mandatory Requirements

• Current QLD Electrical Licence

• Manual Australian C Class Drivers’ Licence (no restrictions)

• EWP High Risk Work Licence (WP) > 11m or willing to obtain

• Construction Induction Card (White Card)

• Current CPR/LVR Certificate (within 12 months)

• G1 – Apply Risk Management Certificate

• Working at Heights Certificate (within 3 years) or willing to obtain

• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and ongoing drug & alcohol testing

Highly Regarded

• HV Switching & Terminations

• Confined Space Entry (within 3 years)

• Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF)

• RII Machinery Tickets

Pre‑employment & Drug and Alcohol checks will be conducted on all prospective employees.
