Drill Fitter/Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter

About the role

Seismic Drilling Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Drill Fitter/HD Diesel Fitter to join our team in Wangara, WA. This position is a critical role in maintaining and repairing our heavy drilling equipment, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
This is a FIFO/DIDO position out of Perth, Western Australia with periodic work required to be carried out in our Wangara Workshop.  

What you'll be doing

• Performing scheduled servicing and maintenance on a range of heavy drilling rigs and equipment

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults on drilling rigs and support vehicles

• Ordering and maintaining a stock of parts and consumables required for repairs and maintenance

• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members

• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations

What we're looking for

• Formal trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter or equivalent 

• Experience in a similar role, ideally within the mining or resources sector (not essential) 

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues

• Good working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems

• Excellent attitude towards safety, attention to detail, and commitment to quality work

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Current driver's licence and ability to work in remote locations

• Unrestricted HR licence or willing to obtain

• National Police Clearance and ability to pass medical including drug screen

• Senior First Aid
