Senior Project Manager – Software Delivery

If you enjoy managing software projects, coordinating work across different teams and keeping delivery on track, this role offers plenty of variety. MaxSoft is a remote-first Australian software company supporting the strata management industry. We are looking for someone who is experienced in software project delivery, steady under pressure, clear in communication and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams.

This role combines software project delivery, internal business projects and process improvement. You will work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, testers, support teams and leaders to ensure projects are properly planned, progress is clearly communicated and risks are addressed early.

This is a newly created role reporting to the Managing Director, and you would be our first dedicated project manager, shaping how projects are planned and delivered across the business from the ground up. The role has no direct reports and will cover a broad mix of work, from smaller operational improvements and software enhancements through to larger cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives. Some projects may involve coordinating a handful of contributors, while others may span multiple teams and business areas.

What the role involves

Project Planning and Delivery

• Manage software development and internal business projects from kick-off through to release or implementation.

• Projects may range from small enhancements and process improvements through to larger software initiatives involving multiple teams.

• Work with product owners, business analysts, developers and stakeholders to agree on project scope, objectives and success measures.

• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, resource requirements and delivery schedules.

• Coordinate project activities across development, testing, support and other areas of the business.

• Manage dependencies and coordinate work across multiple projects, escalating priority conflicts where required.

• Monitor progress against agreed milestones and address delays, risks and blockers early.

• Support the release and rollout of new software features, enhancements and system changes.

Project Coordination and Communication

• Maintain a clear and accurate register of projects underway across MaxSoft.

• Apply the level of project planning, documentation and oversight appropriate to the size, risk and complexity of each project.

• Maintain accurate project plans, status reports, risk registers and decision records.

• Facilitate project meetings, planning sessions, reviews and stakeholder updates as required.

• Provide clear updates to leadership on project status, timelines, resourcing and risks.

• Ensure changes to project scope, priorities or timelines are documented and communicated.

• Present project information and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Participate in occasional client or external stakeholder discussions where project delivery input is required.

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

• Provide leadership to project teams and contributors without direct reporting authority.

• Build strong working relationships across product, development, testing, support and other areas of the business.

• Guide contributors, follow up agreed actions and work with stakeholders to keep projects moving.

• Promote accountability, collaboration and clear communication within project teams.

• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, reporting, tools and ways of working.

• Assist team members in understanding and adopting improved project practices.

• Use AI tools appropriately to support project planning, delivery, reporting and administration.

• This is a hands-on role where you'll be expected to coordinate delivery, follow up actions, solve problems and keep momentum across projects rather than simply report on project status.

What you bring

• Senior-level project management experience in software development, SaaS, technology or a similar environment.

• Experience managing software or technology projects from initial planning through to release or implementation.

• A healthy balance of business understanding and technical knowledge.

• Confidence working with product owners, business analysts, developers, testers and other technical specialists.

• The ability to manage multiple projects, changing priorities and competing deadlines.

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• The ability to build effective working relationships and influence people who do not report directly to you.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and prioritisation skills.

• The ability to identify project risks early and take appropriate action.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.

• High attention to detail and a resilient approach in a fast-paced environment.

• The ability to learn quickly across different products, technologies and business areas.

• Experience establishing or improving project delivery processes, tools and reporting.

• Confidence using AI tools to support project management and delivery.

• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum or hybrid project delivery methodologies.

Experience in strata management, property services or property technology would also be beneficial but is not required.
