Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant – Bayton Group

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team on a fulltime basis. This role supports the end-to-end accounting function across the Bayton Group and International Hotel Services, working closely with the CFO and wider finance team.

Skills & Experience
• Degree in Accounting with experience in Accounts Payable
• Experience with ORACLE NetSuite is highly desirable
• Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong leadership capability and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement

Key Responsibilities
• Preparation and finalisation of monthly and annual consolidated financial reports
• Manage daily financial operations, including posting transfers and NAB Connect entries
• Support external auditors with year-end reporting and tax returns
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls
• Prepare monthly financial analysis and special reports
• Process A/P invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations for all entities
• Maintain and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, GL, accruals, prepayments, and asset registers
• Enter bank transactions and journals into the accounting system
• Prepare and lodge monthly BAS and subcontractor Payroll Tax for all entities
• Reconcile wages, Director credit cards, and intercompany loan accounts
• Liaise with subcontractors/vendors regarding invoice and payment queries
• Support other accounts team members and assist the CFO as required
