Sanitation Supervisor

About the role

The Sanitation supervisor is responsible for leading, developing, and continuously improving the site's sanitation and hygiene programs to ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This role provides strong frontline leadership while taking ownership of sanitation process mapping, standardisation, labour optimisation, equipment cleaning effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the site sanitation team

• Promote a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Conduct regular sanitation team meetings, toolbox talks, and daily reviews

• Ensure sanitation staff are trained, competent, and compliant with site procedures

• Develop comprehensive sanitation process maps for all production areas

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and optimise sanitation activities

• Manage and continuously improve the site's master sanitation program in conjunction with Quality Assurance team.

• Ensure sanitation programs meet GMP, SQF, HACCP, customer, and regulatory requirements

About you

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in food manufacturing sanitation, hygiene, quality, or production leadership

• Demonstrated experience leading teams in a GMP-regulated environment

• Experience developing or managing sanitation programs

• Proven ability to lead continuous improvement projects

• Exposure to allergen management and environmental monitoring programs

• Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Engineering, or related discipline preferred

• HACCP Certification

• Strong people leadership and coaching capability

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
