Head of Learning & Development

Lead the future of workforce capability at Lumia Care

As we continue to grow nationally across aged care, disability and community services, we're seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Learning & Development to lead the design, delivery and governance of our national learning strategy. 
Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical & Compliance Officer, this executive leadership role will shape how we develop, engage and empower our workforce to deliver safe, person-centred care across Australia.

Key Responsibilities 
Lead Learning Strategy & Workforce Capability 

• Develop and implement Lumia Care's national Learning & Development strategy. 
• Create capability frameworks and career pathways across clinical, operational and corporate teams. 
• Identify workforce capability gaps and deliver targeted development solutions. 
• Align learning initiatives to organisational growth and strategic priorities.  

Drive Compliance & Quality Outcomes 

• Ensure all training programs align with regulatory and legislative requirements. 
• Maintain oversight of mandatory training, credentialing and competency frameworks. 
• Partner with Quality & Compliance teams to respond to audit findings, incidents and emerging risks through workforce education. 
• Support audit readiness and quality assurance across all service streams.  

Build Leadership Capability 

• Design and deliver leadership development programs. 
• Strengthen management capability in performance management, workforce planning and risk management. 
• Develop future leadership pipelines and succession planning initiatives. 

Lead the Learning Function 

• Provide leadership to the Learning & Development team and Registered Training Organisation (RTO). 
• Oversee learning systems, reporting, governance and performance frameworks. 
• Drive innovation in learning delivery, including digital and blended learning solutions. 
• Foster a culture of learning, accountability and continuous improvement. 

What We're Looking For 
Essential 

• Tertiary qualifications in Education, Training, Human Resources, Health or a related discipline. 
• Strong experience leading Learning & Development functions in complex, multi-site organisations. 
• Demonstrated success developing capability frameworks, training strategies and leadership programs. 
• Deep understanding of compliance, quality and workforce capability requirements. 
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. 

Highly Regarded 

• Nursing qualification or strong experience working within highly regulated health, aged care or disability environments. 
• Postgraduate qualifications in Organisational Development, Education or Leadership. 
• Experience overseeing an RTO or learning governance framework.
