The opportunity
We’re looking for an Audit Manager to join our Assurance Division at our Sydney Barangaroo office. With over 80 people in Audit & Assurance, HLB offers genuine career progression, exposure to diverse work, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

With continued growth and an expanding range of assurance services, this role is ideal for an experienced Manager who enjoys leading quality engagements within a collaborative, high performing team. You’ll work with a diverse client portfolio across a range of industries, including exposure to climate‑related financial disclosures and other emerging assurance areas.

As an Audit Manager, you will:

• Deliver assurance engagements across a diverse client portfolio
• Project manage engagements from planning through to completion
• Apply strong risk and commercial awareness, resilience and professional judgement
• Manage engagement economics, including budgets, resourcing and client relationships
• Lead, coach and develop junior staff to improve capability and productivity
• Research and application of financial reporting and assurance knowledge to address complex financial reporting and audit matters.
• Embrace technology and innovation to enhance service delivery
• Partner with senior leaders to identify and grow commercial opportunities

About you
You’re someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, professional environment and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. You’ll bring:

• Experience in a similar role, ideally within a Big 4 or mid‑tier firm
• Minimum 6+ years’ experience in audit/assurance environment
• Demonstrated experience in completing financial statement audit engagements from planning through to completion.
• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach
• The ability to manage priorities and work effectively as part of a team
