Principal Mechanical Engineer (Mining Water)

Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering innovative water infrastructure solutions for the mining and resources sector across Western Australia.
Working closely with mining companies, EPCM consultancies and technology providers, they provide the design and delivery of pumping systems, pipelines, process water infrastructure and mine water management solutions for some of Australia's largest resource projects.
Position
Principal Mechanical Engineer (Mining Water)
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to take a senior technical leadership role across complex mining water infrastructure projects.
Working alongside a highly experienced engineering team, you will lead the hydraulic design and assessment of pumping and pipeline systems, providing technical direction across mine dewatering, water supply and process water infrastructure from concept through to detailed design.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical and hydraulic design for mining water infrastructure projects.Develop and review hydraulic models using WaterGEMS, PumpSim or similar software.Undertake pump selection, pipeline sizing and pump and pipeline assessments.Lead the design of pumping systems, pipelines, mechanical pipework and associated equipment.Provide technical leadership, design reviews and technical assurance across projects.Provide direction, guidance and mentoring to engineers and technical personnel.Liaise with clients, suppliers, OEMs and multidisciplinary engineering teams..
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.Extensive experience in the design of water pumping and pipeline infrastructure.Strong hydraulic modelling experience using WaterGEMS, PumpSim or similar.Demonstrated experience in pump selection, pipeline sizing and hydraulic assessments.Experience across mining water, mine dewatering, water supply or related water infrastructure.
