Project Engineer | FIFO

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a site-based Projects team supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of mining infrastructure projects.

This opportunity will suit a Project Engineer with Tier 1 mining experience who is comfortable operating within a client-side project environment and taking ownership of projects from planning and design coordination through execution, commissioning and handover.

The Opportunity

Working within an Owner's Team environment, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering multiple mining infrastructure projects within an operational mine site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mining infrastructure projects from planning through execution, commissioning and handover
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and Engineering Service Providers (ESPs)
• Develop scopes of work and coordinate engineering and design deliverables
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules and cost performance
• Maintain strong project governance and ensure key project controls are followed
• Prepare monthly project forecasts and progress updates
• Monitor actual expenditure against budget and forecast
• Identify cost, schedule and delivery risks early and develop mitigation strategies
• Manage procurement, contractor mobilisation and project interfaces
• Review technical documentation, drawings, work packs and contractor submissions
• Coordinate construction activities with Operations and Maintenance stakeholders
• Support commissioning, practical completion and project handover
• Provide clear project reporting to senior stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or a related discipline
• Demonstrated Project Engineer experience within the mining/resources sector
• Tier 1 mining experience
• Strong mining infrastructure project experience
• Previous client-side or Owner's Team project delivery experience highly regarded
• Demonstrated project governance and forecasting experience
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors and engineering consultants
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept through to handover
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
• Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, accountable and comfortable taking ownership of project outcomes
