About the role

Paragon Civil Group is seeking an experienced Concreter to join our team on a contract basis. This is a hands-on position based in Perth metro or DIDO regional, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality concrete works across our civil construction projects. As a Concreter, you will be responsible for the installation, finishing, and maintenance of concrete structures, ensuring all work meets strict safety standards and project specifications. This role offers the opportunity to work with a reputable civil engineering firm on diverse and challenging projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

Key responsibilities

• Pour, spread and level concrete into formwork for slabs, paths, driveways and structural elements

• Finish concrete surfaces using appropriate techniques including trowelling, broom finishing and edge work

• Operate concrete-related equipment and machinery safely and efficiently

• Construct and install formwork and scaffolding to support concrete pouring operations

• Perform quality checks on concrete work to ensure compliance with project specifications and building codes

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

• Collaborate with other tradespeople and site supervisors to ensure project timelines are met

• Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Concreter on civil construction projects

• Sound knowledge of concrete, pouring and finishing techniques

• Familiarity with concrete machinery and equipment operation

• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in the building trades

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

• Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding manual work in varying weather conditions

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

• Relevant qualifications or certifications (White Card or equivalent preferred)

• Reliability and punctuality with a proven track record of professional conduct on site

• Experience with formwork installation and concrete surface finishing is highly desirable
