About the role
APMS Operations Australia is a proudly Australian-owned business delivering engineering, fabrication, maintenance and asset management services across the industrial, mining, oil & gas and energy sectors.
Through our specialist business units, we provide end-to-end services including engineering, design, fabrication, installation, shutdown maintenance and repair. Our Henderson workshop undertakes a diverse range of high-quality fabrication projects, specialising in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process piping, pipe spooling, industrial storage tanks and non-standard structural fabrication.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Boilermaker to join our workshop team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Boilermaker who enjoys quality fabrication work and wants to be part of a skilled, hands-on workshop team.
You will be involved in the fabrication and assembly of a range of industrial equipment and components, including pipework, pressure vessels and associated fabrication projects.
Fabrication and assembly of pipework, pressure vessels and structural components
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
Measuring, marking, cutting and fitting materials accurately
Welding and fabrication using carbon and stainless steel
Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets project specifications and required standards
Working safely and efficiently within the workshop environment
Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and equipment care
Working collaboratively with welders, tradespeople, supervisors and project personnel
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has a strong focus on safety and quality, and can work effectively as part of a small team while also being capable of working autonomously.
Essential criteria:
Australian-recognised Boilermaker/Fabrication Trade Certificate
Previous workshop fabrication experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience with carbon and stainless steel fabrication
Current Australian driver's licence
Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental requirements
Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and independently
Reliable, punctual and committed to producing high-quality work
Desirable:
Experience with pressure vessel fabrication
Experience with process piping or pipe spooling
Experience within mining, oil & gas, chemical or industrial environments
Relevant welding qualifications or tickets

Monday to Friday – day shift
Standard workshop hours are 6:00am to 4:30pm, with 12-hour shifts available .
Some weekend work may be required depending on project requirements.
