Industrial Food Cleaner (Bakery Manufacturing)

About the role

Pasticceria Papa is seeking a dedicated Industrial Food Cleaner (Bakery Manufacturing) to join our team on a full-time basis at our facility in Five Dock, NSW 2046. This role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety within our bakery manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment, facilities, and work areas meet strict health and safety regulations, enabling our team to produce quality products safely and efficiently. This position plays a critical role in protecting our reputation and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

What you’ll be doing

1. Cleaning and sanitising all bakery production equipment, including mixers, ovens, conveyor belts, and packaging machinery
2. Performing deep cleaning of production floors, walls, and surfaces using approved industrial cleaning methods and chemicals
3. Inspecting equipment and facilities to identify maintenance issues and report them to management
4. Following established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure consistent hygiene standards across all areas
5. Preparing and maintaining cleaning solutions at correct concentrations for different surfaces and equipment
6. Removing waste and ensuring proper disposal of cleaning materials in accordance with environmental regulations
7. Operating industrial cleaning equipment such as pressure washers and steam cleaners safely and effectively
8. Maintaining detailed cleaning records and documentation as required by food safety audits
9. Working collaboratively with production staff to minimise disruption to manufacturing schedules
10. Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

What we’re looking for

1. Proven experience in industrial cleaning, preferably within food manufacturing or bakery environments
2. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles
3. Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and the safe use of cleaning chemicals
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
5. Ability to work independently and follow detailed cleaning protocols and schedules
6. Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive tasks, work at heights if required, and lift heavy items
7. Excellent time management and ability to work efficiently to meet cleaning deadlines
8. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
9. Communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
10. Experience with cleaning validation and auditing procedures is highly desirable
