Metal Casting Trade Worker

About the role

A Metal Caster role involving mold preparation, melting and alloying, mold and core assembly, and defect inspection on cooled castings.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, line, and prepare molds for production runs
• Measure raw materials, operate furnaces, and monitor melt temperatures
• Prepare die-cast molds for metal pouring
• Perform visual and dimensional checks on cooled castings to identify shrinkage, porosity, or defects
• Maintain a safe and compliant workshop in line with WHS requirements and company procedures
• Work independently and as part of the workshop team to meet production schedules

About you

• Related qualifications in Metal Casting or similar role
• At least one year's experience as a Metal Caster
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• A high degree of accuracy with measurements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable and well presented
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
