About the role

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Telecommunications Technician with electrical experience.

You will be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning and maintaining telecommunications, communications cabling and electrical infrastructure across a range of projects. The role includes rough-in and fit-off of communications and electrical systems, troubleshooting, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of existing installations.

 The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both telecommunications and electrical scopes and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Key responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Install, terminate, label and test structured cabling, including Cat6/Cat6A and fibre optic

• Install communications hardware including racks, patch panels, outlets and cable management systems

• Undertake electrical installation and associated works in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements.

• Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on telecommunications and electrical systems

• Hold a current Electrical Contractor's Licence.

• Complete & submit CCEW 

• Complete rough-in and fit-off of telecommunications and electrical infrastructure

• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications

• Perform fibre optic installation, termination, testing and fault finding

• Complete testing, certification and commissioning documentation

• Ensure all works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard

• Liaise professionally with clients, site supervisors and team members

• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organised condition

• Work across commercial, government and rail-related projects as required

About you

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Data Cabler, Communications Technician, Electrician or similar role

• Proven electrical experience

• Current NSW Electrical Licence – required

• Open Cabling Registration (ACMA) with relevant endorsements – required

• Strong telecommunications and structured cabling experience

• Strong site experience

• Experience with fibre optic installation and testing – highly regarded

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• White Card – required

• Current Driver’s Licence – required

• Security Licence – desirable

• Rail industry experience – highly regarded
