About the role

The Cafe Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the cafe, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient business performance, and a positive team culture. This role oversees staff management, food and beverage quality, inventory control, financial performance, and compliance with health and safety standards while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the cafe, ensuring smooth and efficient service

• Open and close the café according to company procedures

• Ensure the café is clean, organised, and maintained to a high standard at all times

• Monitor workflow to maximise productivity and customer satisfaction

• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly

• Provide ad-hoc retail assistance in the Fatboy HQ shop, including serving customers, processing sales, and maintaining product displays

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop cafe and retail staff

• Foster a positive, respectful, and motivated team environment

• Lead by example through professionalism and strong work ethic

• Encourage repeat business through exceptional customer experience by ensuring every customer receives friendly, efficient, and professional service

• Handle complaints and service recovery effectively

• Manage daily cash handling and reconciliation

• Inventory and stock control

• Control operating expenses while maintaining quality standards
