Program Officer

HealthWISE is seeking a motivated Program Officer to join our Services Support team across the New England North West region for a 7-month contract.

In this role, you will support the delivery of primary health care programs by assisting with referral management, program administration, reporting, stakeholder communication, and continuous quality improvement. You will work closely with HealthWISE staff, clinicians, general practitioners, health services, Aboriginal Health Services, and other stakeholders to help deliver coordinated and client-focused care.

Key responsibilities

•  Support referral coordination, waitlist monitoring, and clinician capacity management.
• Assist with program administration, contracts, data collection, reporting, and invoicing processes.
• Maintain accurate records in HealthWISE systems and contribute to program deliverables.
• Build positive working relationships with clinicians, referrers, health services, and community stakeholders.
• Contribute to quality improvement, compliance, and culturally safe service delivery.

About you

• Experience in program administration, preferably within a primary health care setting. 
• Strong organisational, communication, data management, and time management skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. 
• Respectful understanding of Aboriginal communities and culture. 
• Experience using patient management systems. 
• Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
